The trumpet is a brass instrument noted for its powerful tone created by lip vibrations, often referred to as a buzz (buzzing), against a cup-shaped mouthpiece. The trumpet is commonly used in both classical and jazz ensembles ranging from chamber music and big orchestras to both jazz big bands and jazz combos. Trumpets although all similar in shape and size have really small differences that make them all unique. Mouthpieces come in different shapes and sizes and all affect how you play the instrument. With proper instruction, mouthpieces can be a strong tool for a trumpet player to make playing both more efficient and easier.
Trumpet can be a challenging instrument to both learn and master and can take a long time to see progress on the instrument. Trumpet players greatly benefit from the guidance of an instructor.
