James has been teaching guitar and a variety of other musical instruments since 2008. These years of experience have made him exceptionally capable at handling a wide range of students in terms of their particular challenges, prior training, and personal music related goals.
His main influences focus around the acoustic guitar, with pop, folk and alternative rock being his genres of choice for performances. However, James takes special care in making sure that he teaches his students the styles of music that they are most interested in, bringing them closer to whatever goals they have set for themselves.
James has experience teaching students as young as 4 years old, helping foster their passion and development for a lifetime of music learning. James also spends much of his time organizing and hosting music events that bring performance opportunities to his students, including song writing contests, recitals, and bi-weekly open mics for all ages.
James has experience teaching all style of guitar, as well as bass, ukulele, banjo and mandolin. He also has a very flexible schedule for those who do shiftwork, or need flexibility for whatever other reason.
