Northern Lights: An Exploration of Canadian Piano Music Level Pre A is a collection of Pre-Grade One Musical Discoveries (etude-like) works written by Canadians.

The 23 pieces  were carefully selected to represent a wide variety of keys, metre, tempi and styles. Works include pentatonic pieces like The Crystal Cave and Morning Fog; contemporary works like Knock, Knock, Who’s There?, as well as jazzy titles like Rubber Boa. The collection is a useful resource of repertoire for examination, performance, quick study, sight reading and fun, as well useful glossaries. In addition students enjoy each composer’s photo and biography.
