COVID-19 Update May 14 2020
As of today, May 14th 2020, we are again allowed to have clients within our store. For the time being there will still be a number of restrictions in place however that we would like you to follow to keep everyone safe!
- We can allow a maximum of 4 customers in the store at 1 time. If we reach this number we will lock the door and ask those who find the door locked to wait outside on our new bench or in their vehicles until someone leaves. As part of this, we also ask that only 2 members of each family come in together to make sure that we can have room for others.
- We ask that all customers follow physical distancing guidelines with 6 feet between you and others in the store.
- We ask that all customers wash their hands or use our available hand sanitizer upon entering the building.
- Anyone showing symptoms will not be allowed into the store.
- Lastly, we still ask that anyone who can order online for curbside pick-up or delivery, do so. If you know what product you are looking for, we can easily prepare it for you for a quick and simple pickup, or we can deliver it within Leduc for FREE. Payments for lessons, lay-aways or rentals can all be done through QBO invoicing, Interac E-transfer or through our website.
We will have an update shortly regarding in-person lessons at the music school. If you are currently registered for lessons we will be reaching out once more info is available.
COVID-19 Update for Mar 28 2020
Since my last update 2 days ago, the Alberta Government has decided to shut down all non-essential businesses.
What this means for us is that we will no longer be able to have any customers come into the store for any reason. However, we are still able to offer all of our online services.
-We can still have virtual music lessons through Skype, Zoom, or other video platforms.
-We can still sell you new instruments, books, electronics or accessories through our website for curbside pick-up, free delivery within Leduc, or 50% off shipping in the rest of Alberta, and great rates everywhere else.
-Instrument servicing can still be done through our curbside pick-up and drop off.
Virtual Music Lessons
Anyone looking to learn music from one of our 12 fantastic instructors will have to do so through virtual means. Fortunately all you need to make this work is a device with a webcam and mic, and a decent internet connection. Our instructors are working hard to creating lesson plans that will work more effectively in an online platform. In most cases, we can offer students the same quality of lesson that they would get in person, and in some instances the virtual lessons may even be better due to the ability to record your lesson and re-watch it, the ability to simply send digital sheet music and more. It certainly has its limitations, but we are finding ways to structure the lessons toward the technologies strengths.
On top of the private music classes, we are also planning a number of group music classes through Zoom. These will include classes on music theory from Theodore Turner who taught this course at Concordia University for many years. But we are also planning songwriting workshops, instrument primer classes, musical improvisation and more.
To set up video lessons, please call 780-986-2251 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org

If you are outside of Leduc, we are offering a 50% discount on shipping within Alberta on orders over $50.00. If you have any questions, call us at 780-986-2251 or email email@example.com
The health and safety of our families, staff and clients is of the utmost importance to us. So please follow the guidelines laid out by the health authorities.

COVID-19 Update for Mar 26 2020
It's been over a week since our last notice was written in regards to COVID-19. With things changing daily, I wanted to make sure everyone has the most up to date information regarding our response to the situation.
Hours and Precautions
As of this time, we are still open our regular hours 10am-8pm Sunday-Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday. To ensure everyone's health and safety, we are wiping down all regularly contacted surfaces (counters, door knobs, railings, arm rests, debit machines, etc.) hourly during times when customers are coming in. We have hand sanitizer at the entry way, in the waiting rooms, at the front counter, and in instructors offices. We ask that all staff and clients use this upon entry and after handling items in the shop. We also ask that you practice social distancing with at least 2 meters between you and any other individuals within the store.
Limiting Interactions (Skype Lessons & other options)
We are also hoping to limit the number of individuals in the store by recommending that you utilize our curbside pick-up option, Free delivery within Leduc, or 50% off shipping within Alberta. We also ask that any students with the capability to do so, has their music lessons through Skype, Zoom, Face Time or whatever other video platform you and your instructor are able to use. Instructors who are feeling sick are asked to stay home and self quarantine. Some have already chosen to do self-isolation despite being healthy as a preventative measure, and will only be available for online video lessons until further notice. Those teaching exclusively from home at this time are Jordyn Whitehouse, Cole Gereghty, Rodrigo Sosa, and Lori Young.
If you would like to set up a video lesson, please call us at 780-986-2251 and we can sort that out for you.

I just wanted to send you all an update on a variety of things regarding our music school in the light of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Mar 18 2020
Music School Update
We will continue to give private music lessons and will remain open our regular hours ongoing, unless something changes down the road, at which time we will release another update.
As a way to ensure the health and safety of all of our clients, staff, and other friends and family, we are implementing some improved policies around sanitation, cancellations, etc.
From the sanitation standpoint, we are now requiring our instructors to wash their hands with soap or clean with hand sanitizer before beginning each lesson. We are likewise asking that all students do the same thing. Hand sanitizer will be present in each office. We will also be wiping down any surfaces that are commonly interacted with on a regular basis with disinfectant wipes.
These measures will go a long way toward eliminating any potential transmission in the event that someone is asymptomatic.
From a cancellation standpoint, we are asking that all students who are feeling ill, or who have recently traveled to affected areas stay home. We will still require notice of cancellation, and no-shows will still be billed. However, 24 hours IS NOT required in order to cancel. Even 30 minutes notice will be sufficient if you are showing any of the symptoms of a cold, flu, or Coronavirus.
We will not bill for any of these cancellations due to illness during this time, and wont require a make-up lesson to be scheduled. Those who are missing for non-health reasons and still want to have a lesson are welcome to book make-ups into open time slots.
Instructors are also asked not to teach if they are showing any signs of Coronavirus, and may cancel all lessons in the event that they fall ill during this time. So far all instructors are feeling good and are available for continued lessons.
In the event that you need to discontinue lessons for health concerns during this time, your teacher may also be able to continue your lessons online. Our scheduling software MMS (My Music Staff) has integrated Skype video lessons into their platform. In the event that you want to have a skype lesson with your instructor, we will simply need your skype name added to your MMS account. Simply e-mail this to email@example.com and we will add that for you. Then be at your computer with everything you need for your lessons ready to go at your scheduled lesson time. Your instructor will call you through skype once they are ready to begin the lesson.
These lessons may be scheduled at your regular lesson time, or at another time that is convenient for you and your instructor. You can call 780-986-2251 if you want to sort out an alternate time for your lesson.
With potentially a lot of extra time on your hands over the next few weeks, especially if you are self-isolating, now is the perfect time to spend practicing your musical skills. Not only will you make great improvements in your playing, but it may help you relax, de-stress, and will keep you from boredom.
I recommend setting some small goals for yourself during this time. Maybe it’s mastering a song you’ve been at for a while, learning a new song, developing a new technique, or perhaps even writing a song of your own. Whatever it is you decide to do, just keep working at it until you have it, and don’t get down on yourself if you run into trouble, just push on through and ask your instructor for assistance if needed.
Music Store Changes and FREE Delivery
The music store itself is still open as well, with higher standards of sanitation than usual in place. Regular hand washing or sanitizer use is mandated for all clerk staff, high traffic shared contact surfaces are wiped down more regularly, and all ill staff members are asked to stay home at this time.
To help those who prefer not to shop in person during this time, or who are self-quarantined, any online order over $50.00 through our site will have FREE delivery anywhere in Leduc! Just select the “pick up in store” option at checkout and shoot us an e-mail requesting the delivery along with your address, and we will work out a time to drop it off.
If you live outside the City of Leduc, but within the Province of Alberta, we will ship any order over $50.00 to you at 50% off our regular posted shipping rates. This discount will be a manual process on our end, but any order within the province until the end of April with a shipping option selected will get that discount manually applied before the payment is captured. The shipping rates you see in your cart will be double what will be charged to your card.
If you have any questions about these offers, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
